Clearwater FL (March 22, 2018) WMS software developer Datex recently announced its gold-level sponsorship of the cold chain industry’s 127th IARW-WFLO Convention April 29th through May 2, 2018 in Amelia Island Florida. The educational event is designed for senior-level warehousing and logistics executives seeking solutions to key business challenges and opportunities. The two cold chain industry associations, IARW, the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses and its sister organization, the World Food Logistics Organization serve an international membership base and are part of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA).
Known for its insightful educational programming, the IARW-WFLO Convention event is favored by companies for its ability to encourage collaboration and problem-solving in the cold chain industry. Designed to provide opportunities for networking and relationship-building, the annual IARW-WFLO Convention is one of the most prominent events every year in the cold chain industry. Founded in 1891, IARW serves the third-party, temperature-controlled warehouse and logistics industry, including 3PL cold storage and refrigerated warehouse operators. Globally, the cold chain market is anticipated to reach $426.2 billion in revenue by 2022. Growth is anticipated due to factors including rising demand for frozen food, expansion of the pharmaceutical industry and increased investment in temperature-controlled infrastructure and technology.
The complexity of handling and storing perishable and regulated goods including food and pharmaceuticals presents unique challenges to refrigerated and cold storage warehouse operators. Changing consumer expectations, changes to refrigerated distribution as well as to transportation and logistics have led to increased need for collaboration and problem solving in the cold chain logistics industry.
The popular annual event opens with a presentation to reveal a new outward-facing strategic plan geared towards helping association members increase business development opportunities. Over the course of the cold chain industry convention, keynote presenters will focus on issues including artificial intelligence in the cold chain and how the retail evolution is shaping the cold chain. Sessions include industry-led discussions by members who have made an impact on the cold chain industry through their innovations as well as Peer-to-Peer Discussions to provide attendees with opportunities to share ideas and solve problems collaboratively.
In addition, there are a variety of networking opportunities including a sportfishing trip, Golf Classic, pirate-themed closing night party and Supplier Showcase. Two events are available for spouses and guests including a river cruise.
Datex will participate in the Supplier Showcase as well as the Tech Talk portion of the program.
